The Great Outdoors

If you’re looking to immerse yourself in outdoor activities now is a great time to visit Lake Placid. Even in this winter wonderland there are endless activities and attractions to keep you occupied. Some people are deterred by cold weather but visiting Lake Placid during the winter months is an opportunity you do not want to miss! If moving at accelerated speeds across the snow covered terrain excites you then snowmobiling is an activity you definitely want to try. The Adirondacks are a famous destination for snowmobile enthusiasts and offer hundreds of miles of groomed and backcountry trails. If you’d rather keep your feet on the ground then visit Whiteface Mountain for 283 acres of skiable trails; you will be astonished by the breathtaking views as you scale up and down the mountain. For those who are less adventurous I’d recommend ice skating at the Olympic Oval which is most famous as the site of Eric Heiden’s legendary performance at the 1980 Olympic Winter Games.

No matter how old or young or what your skillset is there are hundreds of activities, events, and attractions that will allow everyone in your group to have an unforgettable trip!
